The Ministry of Education has started investigation into the termination of 20 teachers and employees of Birendra Vidya Mandir Higher Secondary School in Kailali after the incident triggered protests from various unions.
A ministry probe panel held separate discussions with members of the school management committee, the Chief District Officer and the terminated staffers on Friday. Claiming that the termination was unwarranted and an act of humiliation against the teachers, the protesting teachers’ unions shut down all educational institutions in Kailali for five days last month.
