An unidentified group opened fire at a youth along the By-pass road section of Birgunj Thursday night.
Ashnarayan Saha Kalwar, a local of Birgunj-9, sustained serious injury in the shootout.
He was made target of gunfire at around 10 last night. He received bullet on his right leg and is undergoing treatment in Narayani Sub-regional Hospital in Birgunj, informed District Police Office, Parsa.
Saha is a cadre of Tarai Mukti Tigers.
Investigation into the incident is underway, informed Police Inspector of District Police Office, Parsa, Bhim Kiran Bogati.
