CHITWAN, JUN 03 - Nepali Congress (NC) leader Arjun Narsingh KC on Friday ruled out the possibility of forming the next government under the UCPN (Maoist) leadership unless the party hands over its weapons to the government.

The NC leader claimed, there is no doubt that the Maoists would be imposing absolute rule if the next government is formed under the Maoist leadership without handing over the weapons to the Special Committee.

Noting that the remaining 84 days-before the three-month extended tenure of the Constituent Assembly (CA) expires-would be a trail period for the Maoists to prove themselves, KC said that it would be crystal clear within the remaining time whether the Maoists are really committed to republic or not.

The NC is firm on its stand that the government should not be led by the Maoists as long as the party possesses arms and armies, leader KC told the media persons at the Bharatpur Airport today.

KC further claimed that the Maoists would not implement its decision to end the dual security system to the party leaders.
