Three-month period litmus test for govt: Dahal
MAY 30 - UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said on Monday that the extended three-month period of the Constituent Assembly (CA) is the “biggest test” for the political parties and the people.
He added that the five-point agreement signed between the big three political parties materialised after intense exercise. "But we averted a big accident accident that was about to happen in the nation," said Dahal, speaking at a programme organised to felicitate mountaineer Appa Sherap at the Maoist headquarters in the Capital today. He expressed his confidence that the country will move on the path to peace, prosperity and independence provided that the parties become able to prove their spirit within the three-month period.
This is first time the Maoist chairman expressed his views on the extension of CA term.
After days of intense negotiations, the major three parties, finally, in the wee hours of Sunday agreed to sign the five-point pact for extension of the CA term that was about to expire .
