KATHMANDU, MAY 30 -

UCPN (Maoist) leader Dev Gurung said on Monday that the 5-point deal inked at the Legislature-Parliament for the extension of the Constituent Assembly (CA)’s term is facing difficulties in implementation.

Dubbing the agreement as regressive, Gurung accused Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal of forging the agreement on some of the issues in a unilateral manner against the party principle.

Speaking at a programme organised at the Reporters’ Club in the Capital, he took serious exception to Dahal’s signing the agreement without holding discussions within the party.

Claiming that the basis of the agreement is obscure in nature, Gurung underlined that he is against the resignation of Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal.

On the occasion, Nepali Congress (NC) leader Shekhar Koirala said that homeworks for replacing the current government must be initiated only after forging consensus on the new leadership.
