PM Khanal fell into his own trap: Nepal
INARUWA, MAY 20 - CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said on Friday that Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal has fallen into his own pit trap. He added that the prime minister had to witness difficult situation as Khanal moved ahead with the UCPN (Maoist), to whom the people do not trust.
Talking to the reporter's in Inaruwa, the district headquarters of Sunsari, former Prime Minister Nepal opined that PM Khanal should resign from his post as the performance of current Khanal-led government was not satisfactory and all the political parties including the UML have raised voices against it.
Noting that the people have lost their faith in the current government, leader Nepal stressed on the need for a national consensus government for a logical conclusion of peace and statute.
"Nothing has been done in terms of peace process although the May 28--deadline of the Constituent Assembly--is drawing close," said Nepal. "The Maoists should move ahead as per the past agreements in order to conclude the peace process."
During his premiership, the Maoists had proposed for the integration of 6,000 People's Liberation Army, the former prime minister said, adding that the Maoists have now increased the number to be integrated.
