BHARATPUR, MAY 18 - CPN-UML Secretary Shankar Pokharel has accused Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal of discarding the party ideology to follow the UCPN (Maoist).
Speaking at a programme organised by Madan Bhandari Foundation in Chitwan, the UML secretary further accused the prime minister of following the Maoists’ move, treading on the people’s multiparty populism propounded by veteran UML leader late Madan Bhandari.
He asserted that PM Khanal, who is also the UML chair, was making a mistake by putting the party’s existence in peril in the name of cooperation.
Urging to take the internal differences of the party as obvious, Pokharel said that the party members should avert the situations in which the other parties could take advantage of the party’s internal row.
He added that too much of magnanimity would destroy party.
“Unity is a great thing. But there is no point in forging alliance by putting the party’s existence at threat,” he added.
