Maoists to intensify talks on integration modality

KATHMANDU, MAY 14 -
The UCPN (Maoist) has decided to intensify meetings with the political parties to solve the issues concerning the peace process and army integration.
The decision was made during the party office bearers meeting held at party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's residence in Nayabazar on Saturday.
Emerging from the meeting, Maoist Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha said, "Discussion on the modality of army integration and statute drafting will be intensified with other political parties as per the party's policy."
The meeting also endorsed the proposal to form a policy to form a separate combine structure of the Maoist combatants and held discussion on the Special Committee on Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation of Maoist combatants, Shrestha added.
