Dahal rules out possibility of timely statute

UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said on Saturday that the new constitution cannot be promulgated within May 28.
However, he added that a report of the new statute will be prepared prior to the expiry of the Constituent Assembly (CA)’s current term.
Talking to the mediapersons at the Bharatpur Airport in Chitwan today, Dahal said that the Bharatpur Cancer Hospital-row will be settled in the three party meet that is slated for tomorrow.
Also on the occasion, Maoist Vice Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai said that the party will now move forward in unity citing that the Maoist Central Committee (CC) has endorsed Dahal’s political proposal of ‘peace and constitution.’
Bhattarai added that the differences in opinion seen within the CC will be respected and managed accordingly.
