Winter House session prorogued
KATHMANDU, APR 22 -
The winter session of the Legislature-Parliament has come to an end from Friday.
At the legislature parliament meeting, House Speaker Subash Chandra Nembang announced the prorogation of parliamentary session by reading out the letter from President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav. But some of the lawmakers were making noise while the speaker was reading out the letter.
According to the interim constitution provision, the running session of House comes to an end after the speaker reads out the letter by the president regarding the prorogation of House.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal met President Yadav at the latter’s office in Sheetal Niwas and recommended him to end the legislative session.
At today’s House meeting, lawmakers Buddha Ratna Manandhar, Sadarul Miya Hak, Rukmani Chaudhari and Biswandra Pawwan, among others, picketed the rostrum and clamoured.
The lawmakers had also obstructed the House meetings earlier as weel demanding that the rights of indigenous people, Dalit, minority and marganilised community should be ensured in the new constitution.
