At a time when rights activists have been calling for an end to all kinds of violence against women, a woman fed up of her husband’s behaviour hit him so hard that he had to be admitted to a hospital.
Bimala Rajbanshi, temporarily staying in a rented house at Thalchhikhel, hit her husband Suman Rajbanshi on his head with an iron rod on Monday night in a fit of rage over a family dispute.
Thirty-one-year-old Suman was rushed to Patan Hospital in an unconscious state, according to police. Police briefly detained Bimala on Tuesday and settled the issue through mutual agreement between the husband and wife, said DSP Dinesh Acharya.
“The woman said her husband used to hate her. That made her furious,” said DSP Acharya. The Jhapa-based couple is working as daily wagers in Lalitpur.
