‘NC’s displeasure won’t hamper coalition’
BUTWAL , MAR 26 - CPN-UML leader Bamdev Gautam said on Saturday that his party Chairman Jhalanath Khanal would not resign from his post of the prime minister just because the Nepali Congress (NC) is displeased.
Speaking at a program organised by the UML in Rupandehi, leader Gautam claimed neither the seven-point deal reached between UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Prime Minister Khanal would be scrapped nor the Maoists shall be sidelined from the government just because the NC urges to. The UML leader warned of establishment of the communist dictatorship in Nepal through left polarisation if the NC keeps on inviting such obstructions.
"We have been striving to change the capitalist NC by bringing into the power via frequent agitations since 1951,” said leader Gautam. “The UML can’t go after it [NC] forever."
Stating that the Maoists were compelled to join the UML-led government and that the UML was obliged to bring the largest party of the Constituent Assembly (CA) to participate in the government, leader Gautam claimed the peace and statute would be completed on time by the same government.
He further said that the very government would promulgate the new constitution by extending the tenure of the CA, if need be.
