PM Khanal urges support from party
KATHMANDU, MAR 17 -
Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal said on Thursday that he is willing to resign from the post provided that he fails to allocate the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) portfolio to the UCPN (Maoist) as per the agreement forged earlier.
PM Khanal, in the CPN-UML Standing Committee (SC) meet convened at the party headquarters today, claimed that he is not interested in holding on to the post if he fails to keep his word.
He is reported to have appealed to the UML leaders to lend him support in order to move forward as per the agreement.
The debates regarding the Home portfolio, among other issues, have escalated within the party, consequently delaying the expansion of the Council of Ministers.
