Lost APF pistol recovered
POKHARA, MAR 16 - Police held Ananda KC with a pistol and its ammunition from his residence in Malepatan, Kaski on Tuesday night.
The seized firearm is a Chinese pistol that Lamapatan-based Armed Police Force (APF) Training School lost some six months ago. However, police are yet to confirm it.
During an interrogation, KC said he had purchased the weapon from Kuber Pun, an APF deserter, for Rs. 40,000. “I bought the firearm for personal security as I was threatened with life,” a police officer quoted KC as saying. A drug user, KC has reportedly been involved in smuggling narcotics.
The APF training school lost a Short Machine Gun (SMG) and two pistols on Aug. 21, 2010. On March 1, police arrested Pun with an SMG and a pistol from Pokhara.
