'UML internal strife taking nation hostage'
BAGLUNG, FEB 24 - UCPN (Maoist) Spokesperson Dina Nath Sharma on Thursday alleged that the CPN-UML has held the nation hostate of indecision.
The Maoists spokesperson, who arrived here in the district to attend the party programme, said the UML's internal conflict has taken its toll on the expansion of cabinet.
The nation failed to make headway due to unwillingness on the part of the “so-called” senior UML leaders to abide by the agreement signed by the party's chairman, leader Sharma said.
He added that the country's image was eroding in the international areana due to the protraction of caretaker government for seven months.
"Our party [Maoists] supported the UML to mend the country's image," said the Maoist leader. “It won’t be an easy way for the UML, if they try to move ahead ignoring the largest party.”
The Maoist should at least get its share of ministerial portfolios--if not the prime minister--as mentioned in the seven-point deal signed between Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Prime Minister and UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal, Sharma said, adding that his party should have gotten the post of prime minister in its capacity as the largest party in the Constituent Assembly.
The chairmen of the Maosits and UML had signed the seven-point deal on Feb.3, setting off of a new conflict in the already troubled political sphere.
