Oli-faction warns PM Khanal of ‘blunder’
KATHMANDU, FEB 16 -
The CPN-UML Senior leader K.P. Sharma Oli-faction appealed to Prime Minister and UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal not to commit a blunder by allocating the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) portfolio to the UCPN (Maoist).
Oli along with Minister without portfolio Bishnu Poudel and Secretary Shankar Pokharel convened a meet with PM Khanal at Singhadurbar in the Capital and made the appeal, sources confirmed.
It is learnt that the meeting was convened at Singhadurbar after Oli refused to enter into the Baluwatar premises, owing to the Tuesday night’s incident.
The Oli-faction took serious exception to the 7-point agreement forged between PM Khanal and Maoist Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, claiming that the pact has breached the party’s principles.
In response, Khanal clarified that he has no intentions of going against the party’s principles.
On the occasion, the prime minister expressed dissatisfaction towards the Tuesday’s incident, underlining that it was blown out of proportion.
However, the Oli-faction reiterated that the incident took toll on the image of the leaders.
