BNP probes 'poacher' soldier

GULARIYA, FEB 15 - Bardiya National Park (BNP) has launched a probe on Nepal Army (NA) soldier Dal Bahadur Chaudhary for allegedly aiding and abetting poachers.
Chaudhary was arrested from the BNP, where a patrolling team of the Army gunned down a poacher on Sunday night.
This is not the first instance of an NA personnel being accused of working hand-in-glove with poachers.
Three years ago, two soldiers were convicted of killing a rhino. BNP conservation officer Ramesh Kumar Thapa said Chaudhary will be charged under the Wildlife Conservation Act.
