One electrocuted in Lamjung
Locals resort to protest for compensation
LAMJUNG, FEB 05 -
Locals have obstructed transportation and vandalised the office of the Electricity Users’ Association in Lamjung district demanding compensation for the family of an electrocuted officer on Saturday.
It is reported that transportation in Dumre has been crippled and at least 13 windows in the office have been shattered owing to the protest.
One Khusi Ram Bhandari, 38, an electric technician, got electrocuted at Ghanpokhara on Friday.
The locals have accused that Bhandari was forced to climb an electric pole for maintenance.
District Police Office Lamjung is endeavouring to hold talks with the locals to settle the row at the earliest, sources confirmed.
