Khanal files PM candidacy
UML appeals for support; issues whip for party lawmakers
KATHMANDU, FEB 02 -
CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal has filed his candidacy for the prime ministerial post at the Legislature-Parliament on Wednesday.
It is reported that UML Chief Whip Bhim Acharya and leader Ram Chandra Jha stood as the proposer and the supporter of Khanal's candidacy respectively.
Meanwhile, the UML Parliamentary Party (PP) has appealed to all political parties to lend support to Khanal in the prime ministerial elections.
Claiming that a UML-led government can pilot the peace and the statute drafting process to a logical conclusion, the UML PP made the appeal after its meeting convened at the party headquarters on Wednesday.
It is reported that the party also issued a whip urging its lawmakers to mark their presence in the PM election, which is slated for tomorrow.
