Govt, Maoist lock horns over ‘chain of command’
Govt takes exception to Dahal’s statement
KATHMANDU, JAN 31 -
Despite the transfer of UCPN (Maoist) People’s Liberation Army (PLA) under the purview of the Special Committee (SC), the government and the Maoist are still at loggerheads over the ‘chain of command.’
The government on Monday took serious exception to Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s statement, which claimed that the PLA will stay under the command of the party until the completion of the integration process.
Speaking at a programme organised in the Capital, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said that no party can lay claim over the PLA citing that the combatants have been transferred under the SC’s purview.
He added that the integration process will be initiated as per the will, caliber, and eligibility of the combatants.
Amid the political deadlock in the nation, Dahal and PM Nepal have been indulging in accusation games lately.
Dahal, in a programme organised in Sunsari district yesterday, had held PM Nepal responsible for the protraction of impasse in the nation.
