Special program to promote tourism soon : Bhandari

Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Sharat Singh Bhandari has said that a special programme to promote rural tourism through the concept of home stay is in offing.
Such a programme is will also help make Nepal Tourism Year (NTY) 2011 successful, he said inaugurating the 47th Annual General Assembly of Nepal Association of Travel and Tour Agents (NATA) here today. He also urged tourism entrepreneurs to do their bit for NTY 2011.
Saying that tourism promotion programmes will be launched targeting the big two neighbours—India and China, he said that Chinese tourists will not have to pay visa fee soon.
In the recent meeting of South Asian tourism ministers held in Kathmandu, all countries expressed commitment to develop regional tourism, he said.
At the programme, State Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Shatrudhan Prasad Singh Koiri said that Nepal's property is its nature and culture, thus tourism entrepreneurs have an important role to promote tourism.
President of NATA Arjun Prasad Sharma said that the government should buy jet planes as the flag-carrier Nepal Airline Corporation has been reeling under plane shortage. RSS
