A girl was killed by her own colleague with a knift in Chandralalpur VDC of Siraha district this morning.
Seventeen-year-old, Punam Kumari Singh, daughter of Mahendra Mahato, was killed by her colleague Santosh Kumar Chaudhary of Chandralalpur-2 at around 7 am today, according to police. Punam was the Eleventh Grader in local Janata Higher Secondary School.
Chaudhary attacked Punam with knife at throat and breasts behind the school while she was coming to the school with her sister Kavita Singh.
Meanwhile, the local residents vandalized around half a dozen vehicles and disrupted traffic on the East-West Highway following the incident.
Police used tear gas to control the agitating villagers after they vandalized and tried to set fire on Chaudhary's house, said Superintendent of Police Bikash Shrestha.
Police have intensified their search to find the absconding Chaudhary and sent the body to hospital for postmortem.
Police held two persons in connection to the incident. The road traffic has been resumed after five hours with the three-point agreement including holding the guilty and giving compensation to the victim's family. RSS
