KATHMANDU, JAN 26 -

Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal emerged out of the three-party talks underway at Gokarna Resort, on the outskirts of Kathmandu.

"The meeting is being held, there will be an agreement by this evening," said PM Nepal, talking to reporters.

The major party leaders are holding bilateral and trilateral parleys at the meeting that began at Gokarna Resort from early today.

In a last-ditch effort to forge consensus on the formation of a unity government, the big three parties decided to sit for the talks as the deadline for the same is expiring tonight.

Earlier, President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav had extended the timeframe to form a national consensus government, on Friday, at the request of the political parties.
