Journalist and Police homes robbed

RAJBIRAJ, JAN 23 - Property worth Rs 90,000 was stolen from the houses of a journalist and police personnel in Rajbiraj on Saturday night.

Property worth Rs 50,000 was stolen from the house of Chairman of Federation of Nepal Journalist, Saptari, Byas Shankar Upadhyaya of Swarna tole in Rajbiraj-7 of the district.

According to Upadhyaya's family source, the thieves broke into the house and made off with property after breaking the lock of a cupboard.

Likewise, silver ornament worth Rs 40,000 was stolen from the house of Assistant Sub-Inspector Lal Prasad Yadav of Rajbiraj-6.

According to the District Police Office, Saptari, Yadav who is based at the District Police Office, Morang, was in Biratnagar and Upadhyaya was in Kathmandu for treatment at the time of the theft. RSS
