Govt forms panel to democracy day
KATHMANDU, JAN 21 - A national democracy day main occasion committee has been formed under the chair of Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal to celebrate 28th National Democracy Day.
A meeting held at the Prime Minister's Office in Singha Durbar today decided to organise several programmes to celebrate the Day on Feb. 18, 19 and 20.
Chief Justice, Chairman of Consitutent Assembly, Deputy Prime Ministers, former Prime Ministers, former Chief Justices, former Speakers, top level government officials and CA members representing Kathmandu Valley are in the committee.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the Democracy Day should be observed in memory of martyrs and respect to them for fighting tyrannical rule of Ranas in 2007.
