Three Tibetans detained in Gorkha
GORKHA, JAN 18 -
Three Chinese citizens accused of entering Nepal without proper documents have been arrested by the District Police Office on Tuesday.
The district police have sent the trio, who were arrested from Sirdibas VDC of Philim to the Immigration Department in the Capital.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Gorakh Singh Bhandari said Tsheten Norbu, 27, Kanjo Tenden, 24, and Apeng, 23, entered Nepal through the border of Chhekampar VDC of Sirdibas. “They have been detained because they do not possess proper documents permitting them an entrance in Nepal. They might have been heading for India through one of Nepal’s open borders,” said Bhandari.
One can travel maximum ten kilometers inside the border either way with only a citizenship certificate. Police said they do not even have a Chinese citizenship.
