Landgren meets Koirala
Farewell visit
KATHMANDU, JAN 13 -
United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) Chief Karin Landgren met Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala at the latter's residence in Maharajgunj on Thursday morning.
The meeting between the UNMIN Chief and the NC President has been taken as a farewell visit prior to the departure of UNMIN.
It has been reported that Landgren expressed her concern over the post UNMIN exit from the country and the peace process.
She also expressed her belief that the peace process and the constitution drafting will be concluded within a given time frame and added that inspecting the Maoist combatants and monitoring arms and ammunition will be effective even after its exit.
On the occasion, Koirala expressed his gratitude towards Landgren's contribution in the country being the UNMIN Chief.
The tenure of United Nations mission in Nepal is expiring on Jan 15.
