‘Private schools won’t be registered from next academic year’

BIRATNAGAR, JAN 10 - The UCPN (Maoists) affiliated All Nepal National Independent Students' Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R)'s Chairman Himal Sharma said on Monday that new private schools will not be allowed to be registered from the next academic session.

Talking to media person in Biratnagar, Sharma said that the existing private schools will also be brought under the tax purview of government and fix their fee rate.

“From the upcoming academic year, the revolutionary students would compel the all the private schools to pay the tax as fixed by the government,” said the ANNISU-R leader.

He also said that the steps are being taken to reduce the financial burden of the students. He added any private schools refusing to follow the rule will have to face the consequences.

Sharma stressed the fact that within the next 5 years all the institutions operating up to high school (+2) will be under the government and his party is ready to take arms for the same if need be.

He said that from the coming academic year it will be mandatory for all the government officers to enroll their children in government schools. "Government school’s syllabus will be changed, and all the government officers will have to enroll their children in private schools," he said.

Sharma also claimed that the government schools' teachers will also not be allowed to either teach or invest in private schools.
