Dahal’s document endorsed despite Bhattrai’s dissent
KATHMANDU, JAN 05 - The Central Committee (CC) meeting of the UCPN (Maoist) ended on a high note for Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal as the party passed his revised political document on Wednesday.
However, Vice Chairman Baburam Bhattarai has expressed reservations over the spirit of Dahal’s report that was revised by incorporating the views of senior party Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya.
The CC meet endorsed the revised document of Chairman Dahal with necessary suggestions, Maoist spokesperson Dinanath Sharma informed after the conclusion of the CC meet at party headquarters in Parisdanda, Kathmandu. The meeting began on Monday.
“Comrades including Vice Chairman Baburam Bhattarai wrote note of dissent on the spirit of the document,” said Sharma.
Bhattarai had written a note of dissent on the revised document of Dahal at yesterday’s meeting.
However, Vice Chairman Bhattarai did not show up at the meeting today as he left for Indian capital New Delhi to attend a programme organised by Vivekananda Foundation.
The Maoist spokesperson informed that the CC meet decided to take the internal struggle to the lower levels of the party though five-point procedure. The meeting handed over the responsibility of work division and preparing the future action plan.
The party has resolved to take the agreed issues among the cadres through the party mouthpiece ‘Bichardhara’.
The Maoists meet has approved the plan to conduct training programmes in various places all through the next month.
