Police personnel behind bars for gang rape
DANG, JAN 01 -
Two police officers have been detained on Saturday on charge raping a woman under custody.
The 46-year-old woman, who was taken under police custody for a brawl with the neighbours, has accused police personnel Dharma Bahadur Malla and Balaram Chanar of raping her while being ferried to the police station after the arrest.
It is reported that the victim filed a case against four police personnel—Malla of Kalaiya, Chanar of Rukum, Mohan Lal Buda of Banke, and Sushila Sunar of Bijananeta.
It has been learnt that the victim failed to file the case last Monday, when the incident took place, because the involved had threatened to kill her son and rape her daughters.
Meanwhile, Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) and locals have demanded for immediate action against the guilty.
Superintendent of Police Thakur Prasad Gyawali has assured that necessary actions will be taken against the ones involved in the mishap.
Further investigation is underway.
