NTSC defends British Gurkha Cup title
KATHMANDU, DEC 25 -
Nabil Three Star Club (NTSC) clenched the British Gurkha Cup title defeating Manang Marsyandi Club (MMC) in the finals match played at the Dasharath Stadium in the Capital on Saturday.
NTSC defended the title registering victory against MMC 3-1 in a tie-breaker.
Both the teams remained at an equal score of 1-1 even after the half-an-hour extra time added after the regular one and half hours' play.
MMC's player Ganesh Khadka scored the first goal in the 57th minute whereas NTSC's footballer Buddha Chemjong scored the equal in the 64th minute.
In the tie-breaker‚ Anil Ojha‚ Bikash Singh Chhetri and Bijay Dhimal scored for NTSC‚ while MMC saw a single goal from Sabindra Shrestha, thus failing to clench the title.
This is NTSC's second victory in a row.
This football tournament is the biggest football event with a prize of Rs. 1m for the winning team.
