College girl brutally killed
KATHMANDU, DEC 21 - A 22-year-old college girl was found murderd in the Capital on Monday night, police said.
Sarala Thapa, a 12-grader at the Nepaltar-based Nepal Rastriya College was also an employee at the Samakhusi-based Pradeep Garments. Thapa's body was found wrapped in a sack on the roadside near Miteri bridge in Gangabu.
Thapa originally hails from Samundradevi-4, Nuwakot and is currently living in her married sister's house in Nepaltar. She had lost contact with her sister a few days ago.
There were multiple injuries on Thapa's head, police said.
Police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the gruesome murder. However, preliminary investigations indicated that she might have been a "victim of love affairs." Police said they extracted some "love text messages" from her mobile phone that were supposedly sent by her friends.
Based on call details, police arrested three of Thapa's colleagues, including Angila Thapa and Sahil Khan, for their suspected invovlement in the murder.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rana Bahadur Chand, in-charge of the Metropolitan Police Crime Division, said further investigation is on.
