Gov’t performs transfer, promotion of police, army personnel
KATHMANDU, NOV 30 -
The meeting of the Council of Ministers decided upon the transfer and promotion of some high-ranking police and army personnel and appointed honorary ambassadors to some nations on Tuesday.
The Cabinet meeting convened in Singhadurbar this morning appointed Sarika Khetan, Bhola Bikram Thapa, and Ameer Pratap Rana as honorary ambassadors to Romania, Bulgaria, and Croatia respectively.
The government transferred six Additional Inspector Generals (AIG)s and promoted Senior Superintendents of Police (SSP)s Mahesh Singh Kathayat and Amrit Kaji Shrestha to Technical Deputy Inspector Generals (DIG)s.
The Cabinet promoted Brigadier General Pradeep Bikram Rana to Major General and decided to extend the terms of Brigadier Generals Binod Basnet, Purna Chandra Thapa, and Umesh Kumar Bhattarai by three years.
The meeting also approved Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal ‘s visit to Cambodia and extended the term of the Commission for the Rehabilitation of Freed Kamaiyas till mid-July.
It has been learnt that the government extended the term of the High-level Commission to Monitor Forest Encroachment, Deforestation and Community Forest 2067 by two months.
The Cabinet also forged a constitutional agreement to issue a directive for National Census 2011-12, Spokesperson of the caretaker government Shankar Pokharel informed.
