NA alone need not abide by CPA: Thapa
JHAPA, NOV 27 -
Rastriya Janasakti Party (RJP) Chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa said on Saturday that the Nepal Army (NA) need not stay within the barracks as the UCPN (Maoist) People’s Liberation Army (PLA) combatants marked their presence in political programmes beyond the cantonments.
Speaking at a programme organised at Damak in Jhapa district, Thapa said the NA alone need not abide by the Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA).
He added that failing to avert the participation of the PLA in the Maoist’s extended plenum is unfortunate.
Stating that the Maoist’s step to involve the PLA in the party’s plenum crippled the same, Thapa said the party cannot be trusted until its behaviour sees a change regardless of the decisions made by the plenum.
In another context, Thapa added that a presidential rule or the revival of monarchy in the nation cannot be thought of at the present.
