LAHAN, NOV 14 -
A VDC secretary from Siraha district stands accused of misappropriating development budget to build his house. Bibekchandra Karki, secretary of Maheshpur Patari VDC, is charged with embezzling over Rs. 600,000 from the development budget under various projects. He has also been found forging signature of Shital Prasad Yadav of a river embankment project to siphon off Rs. 50,000. The Siraha District Development Committee said that Karki will be punished for abusing his authority on the ground of fleecing the state money. Karki refuted all the charges made against him and claimed that his adversaries framed him.
