BAITADI, NOV 11 -
A company commander of People's Liberation Army (PLA) has admitted that a group of locals led by him had killed a youth at Bhumiraj VDC, Baitadi.
During police interrogation Dal Bahadur Saud of Lisnegram Smriti Brigade under the PLA's Seventh Division said that Dambar Saud of Bhumiraj-5 was beaten to death by the group he led on Monday night. The deceased had been recently released from a jail after serving a two-year jail sentence on a rape charge.
Police had found Dambar's body on the bank of Suilek Khola on Tuesday. The body had deep cut injuries. The incident occurred when the PLA commander arrived on a home leave for Tihar.
Police on Wednesday arrested Dal Bahadur, Ragi Saud, Mohan Saud, Lal Bahadur Saud, Dhan Bahadur Saud, Arjun Saud, Ganesh Saud and Mansingh Saud in connection with the murder.
"The PLA commander admitted that Dambar died due to the beating by the group of locals. We are trying to find more details about the incident," said Police Inspector Nripa Shah.
