Two persons including a child were electrocuted in two separate incidents in Saptari and Siraha districts on Thursday.
Kapaleshwor Mandal, 35, of Chhinnamasta VDC in Saptari district, died of electric shock while he was plucking flowers inside the Chhinnamasta Bhagwati Temple premises. He died on the spot. He came in contact with the open wire that was arranged in the garden to light the bulbs in the flower tree, police said.
The deceased body has been taken to Sagarmatha District Hospital for autopsy.
In another incident, an 11-year-old girl was electrocuted in a pond, where she had gone to wash dishes in Hakwara VDC, Siraha.
The pond was electrified after a nearby electric wire broke down from a pole and fell into it. The deceased girl has been identified as Radha Yadav, daughter of a local Khushi Lal, Zonal Police Office, Rajbiraj said.
