Prez talks road links with Chinese officials

KATHMANDU , OCT 27 -  

President Dr.Ram Baran Yadav held a discussion with Lasha-based Chinese officials on the extension of transportation networks to link the major entry points along the border of Nepal and China.

According to Rastriya Samachar Samiti, during the meeting President Yadav, who is in China to attend the closing ceremony of the expo on Oct. 31, and Chinese officials expressed their determination to operate transportation networks on the border crossing roads so that citizens of both the countries would be profited.

Yet, names of the linking border points, and designation of the Chinese officials' have not been disclosed.

Major Nepal-Tibet business routes are Kodhari of Sindhupalchok, Okaldhunga of Taplejung, Larke Bhanjyang of Gorkha, Yari of Humla, Namja Bhanjyang of Mugu, and Tinkar of Darchula.

 Giving a high preference to business relation with Tibet, Office of Consulate General has been established in Lasha, which is the only foreign Office of Consulate General in Tibet.

Sankhuwashava, Solukhumbu, Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, Rasuwa, Dhading, Gorkha, Manang, Mustang, Humla, Mugu, Dolpa and Bajang are the 13 districts of Nepal linking border points with China.

 However, Taplejung of far eastern and Darchula of far western meets the border with both the neighboring countries—India and China.
