Transportation obstructed in Mahottari
BARDIBAS, OCT 25 -
Public transportation in Mahottari district has been affected due to the two-day transport strike called by the Janakpur Zonal Transport Entrepreneurs Association.
The Association has called a two-day transport strike for Monday and tomorrow, demanding action against those involved in physically assaulting driver Rampritam Mishra of the bus (Na.2 Kha.4037) plying on the Jaleswor-Janakpur route. The incident reportedly took place 15 days ago at Pipara of Mahottari.
As a result, passenger buses plying to Jaleswor, Bhittamod, Aurahi, Samsri and Gaushala have been affected.
"We were forced to resort to a strike as the police administration failed to take action against those involved in the beating," said President of the Association, Tej Narayan Chaudhary.
Driver Mishra is undergoing treatment at the Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar.
Mishra was severely beaten up by passengers and relatives of a person who died after being hit by a bus he was driving.
