Deuba wants PM election to end
KATHMANDU, OCT 14 -
Senior Nepali Congress(NC) leader Sher Bahadur Deuba said on Thursday that the fruitless prime ministerial election has created a situation of uncertainty inside the country .Deuba added that the race to the post of prime minister should be ended as soon as possible.
Such opinion from the second generation NC leader comes at a time when the newly elected NC president Sushil Koirala has been sticking to the idea that NC will not withdraw its candidacy from the election to a new prime minister.
Speaking at a tea reception programme organised by the Hamro Mitra Yuva Samuha at Chhetrapati, Deuba stated “the ongoing fruitless prime ministerial elections must bear an end.” He further said that “political way out is possible by building a consensus among ourselves not by any external forces or intervention.”
The NC leader remarked that the national consensus should be forged by keeing people’s mandate for peace and constitution drafting at the centre.
He suggested all parties representing in the Constitution Assembly to give a way out to the current political deadlock immediately after Dashain festival.
