KATHMANDU, OCT 12 - UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday said that the recent Indian media report that Nepali Maoists were imparting training to Indian Maoists is a "conspiracy and design of foreign forces."

Speaking at a programme, Dahal said the report is a challenge to national independence and an attempt to lead the country towards confrontation. “The report has been publicised at a time when the formation of a new government has been delayed. This is an attempt to derail the peace and constitution writing processes,” he said. The Indian government on Monday claimed that Indian Maoists (Left Wing Extremism-LWE) sneak into Nepali territory to get training from the Maoists' PLA fighters and international terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Toiba.

According to Monday's edition of the Indian Express newspaper, the central government of India has warned all Maoist Naxalite-hit states “to stay on high alert in the fight against Naxalites.”

Maoists flay Indian report

 Maoist People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has taken exception to the Indian media reports, alleging that Nepali Maoists were imparting training to Indian Maoists Naxilities. The PLA has remarked that the news report is baseless, premeditated and speculative.

 “People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has attention has been drawn towards the report that alleges the Maoist army of training Indian Naxilities,” said PLA Chief Nanda Kishor Pun, in a statement on Monday.

According to Monday’s edition of the Indian Express newspaper, the Indian government warned the Maoist PLA has been imparting training to Naxilities.

“We regret at the publication of such baseless reports and strongly condemn it,” reads the statement.

The PLA said it is serious at the report that was published against the backdrop of deepening deadlock over the formation of new government, lack of progress in drafting new statute and the “suspicious visit by Indian ambassador Rakesh Sood”.

“The news report has raised doubts if it is a part of the additional conspiracy to derail the peace process and statute-drafting process to prepare grounds for intervention in Nepal’s internal affair,” read the statement.
