Prez Yadav reiterates unity to institutionalise republic
NAWALPARASI, OCT 08 -
President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav on Friday underscored the need for unity among the parties to institutionalise the country’s republic. There is no alternative to it, he added.
The president’s statement comes at a time when the political parties are at loggerheads over several issues that have delayed the formation of a new government, even after one hundred days have passed since the outgoing coalition government stepped down. The delay in the formation of government has taken a heavy toll on the peace process and constitution drafting.
Speaking at a programme organised to mark the golden jubilee celebrations of Janak Higher secondary School, Gaidakot, Nawalparasi, President Yadav said that everyone, regardless of their political ideologies and other contentious issues, should come together to institutionalise the republic in the country.
The president spent about an hour in Gaidakot prior to boarding a flight to Pokhara.
This is the first visit of the president to Nawalparasi. The Janak Higher secondary school established in the year 1958 is the oldest school of the district.
