One beaten to death for alleged rape attempt

UDAYAPUR, OCT 06 -
A person was beaten to death by the locals at Vorleni of Basaha-4 in Udayapur district on Tuesday night.
One Udim Rai, 39, was killed when the locals alleged him of a rape attempt on Rukmina Rai and thrashed him yesterday night.
Rai, who had sustained critical injuries in the incident, breathed his last while being ferried for treatment, police informed.
Meanwhile, police have detained 14 persons suspecting their involvement in the murder following the incident.
The arrestees have been identified as locals Bal Bahadur Rai, Milan Rai, Ram Kumar Rai, Sitaram Bista, Sagar Thapa, Shilash Rai, Sambhu Pariyar, Ramesh BK, Season Rai, Bhim Kumar Rai, Rajan Karki, Sandeep BK, Sundar Rai, and Kumar Rai.
Further investigation will be initiated after all the detainees are brought to the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Manoj Yadav informed.
The body of the deceased has been kept at the District Hospital for autopsy. The body will be handed over to the relatives following the procedure.
