Govt flays Tibetans’ move
KATHMANDU, OCT 05 -
The Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday condemned an attempt by Tibetan refugees to hold the 15th general election to choose a new prime minister of the Tibetan government-in-exile. The election, however, was disrupted after police stormed three centres in Kathmandu Valley, where the Tibetan community members were holding the vote, and seized ballot boxes. The ministry said the Tibetans’ move was against the spirit of Nepal’s foreign policy.
