Maoist lawmaker bashes party cadres
BAITADI, OCT 04 -
Four Maoist leaders including Baitadi district sub in-charge have been injured when a clash ensued during the Maoist District Committee meeting on Tuesday.
A group led by party lawmaker Narendra Kunwar beat up the other group following a dispute over financial irregularities at the meeting held at Patan.
Those injured in the confrontation have been identified as Maoist Baitadi district sub in charge Dal Bahadur Dhami, district member Gauri Datta Joshi ‘Gaurav’, Arjun Rana ‘Suman’ and Ishwori Bhatta ‘Rajib’.
According to a party source, the clash followed a disagreement over lack of transparency in record of donation collected in the party’s name.
Of those injured, Gauri Datta Joshi has been undergoing treatment at District Hospital Baidati. He has sustained deep injury in his right eye due to knife attack. The other three are said to be normal.
Lawmaker Kunwar, assistant district in charge Deependra Kunwar, district member Birkah Bahadur Kunwar, Amar Dhami, Krishna Badu, among others, have been identified as the assailants, Inspector at District Police Office Baitadi, Nrip Sah informed.
