KATHMANDU, SEP 19 - UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said on Sunday that the recent agreements signed between the government and his party on the issues relating to the peace process has rekindled hopes to take ahead the stalled peace process and the constitution drafting.

Speaking at a program organised in the capital today, the Maoist chairman made it clear that he decide to pull out of the PM race after he smelled the conspiracy behind the unnecessary protraction of the prime ministerial election.

Chairman Dahal on Friday signed a 3-point agreement with CPN-UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal in order to jumpstart a new political process on government formation.

As per the agreement, Dahal who is vying for the PM's post will withdraw his candidacy while the UML, in return, will not vote the Nepali Congress candidate.

He added that the parliamentary election is being protracted with the objective to derail the peace process and dissolve the Constituent Assembly (CA) and the current system.
