Clinton awards Poudel for democracy video challenge win
NEW YORK, SEP 11 -
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton presented an award to Anup Poudel, one of the winners of the Democracy Video Challenge 2010 organised by the US government, amid a programme in New York on Saturday.
Poudel was awarded as the winner from south and middle Asian regions for his outstanding video ‘Democracy is Black.’
Poudel’s win is Nepal’s second win in a row in the video challenge, which was established by the US government on Sept. 15, 2008.
Out of 700 participants from all over the world, Poudel is one of the six who were awarded in the ceremony. Other winners were from Indonesia, Spain, Iran, Ethiopia, and Columbia.
The winners received an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., New York, and Hollywood.
