One swept away by river

DANG, SEP 06 -

One man died after being swept away by the Gwar River by the Ghorahi-Tulasipur road section on Sunday.

Jit Bahadur Gharti, 60, a resident of Halwar VDC-6 died as he was trying to cross the river yesterday, District Police Office, Dang informed.

Gharti was returning from his grandson's house. His body was found in the river bank later that evening.

Since there is no bridge for safe crossing, the river has been taking the lives of many pedestrians during monsoon every year.

Two weeks ago, two people were also swept away by the waters when they tried to cross the river.
