Manita bags gold
KATHMANDU, SEP 04 - Manita Shahi bagged gold for Nepal at the Sixth Inter-national Korean Open Taekwondo Championship held in Korea on Friday. Competing in the women's 62 kg weight group, Manita overcame Thailand in the final. Earlier, She had knocked out a Japanese in the semi-final. The other two players, Ayasha Shakya and Yan Kumari Chaulagain who had also competed in the championship clinched silver. Ayasha and Chaulagain who had competed in the women's 52 and 64 kg weight group respectively defeated Thailand to reach final. All three players will represent Nepal at the 16th Asian Games in China. Players from 44 countries are participating in the five day championship which will conclude on Monday.
