Prachanda bats for RPP's support
KATHMANDU, SEP 03 - UCPN (Maoist) Chairman met top leaders of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) on Friday and asked for their support in the prime ministerial election.
Dahal held discussions with Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Pashupati Sumsher Rana and leader Lokendra Bahadur Chand.
The meeting was held at Chand’s residence in Lokanthali, Bhaktapur.
According to RPP Chairman Rana, prime ministerial elections, ways to end the deadlock, peace process and statute drafting, among other issues, figured in the meeting.
He added Dahal urged them to lend support in the prime ministerial election slated for Sept. 5. The RPP has been voting Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Ram Chandra Poudel in the five rounds of parliamentary voting to elect a new prime minister.
